This 2024 we’ve seen jaw-dropping, mouth-watering, insanely good, and utterly gorgeous trends in engagement parties and weddings. These trends have survived the pandemic of 2020, the wedding boom of 2021 and 2022, and the uncertainty of 2023. This year, we saw hundreds of couples of all cultural backgrounds say their “I dos,” and we’re obsessed with the way they pulled off their weddings. Here we’ve compiled a list of the things that made us go gaga for weddings!
Precious stones in engagement rings and wedding bands
Gone are the days when engagement rings and wedding bands were exclusively diamond-studded. These days, precious stones like emeralds, rubies, and aquamarines make a terrific trend. You have a variety of options for emerald engagement rings, oval blue sapphire rings, aquamarine engagement rings, and ruby stone engagement rings. Have fun shopping because you’ll find it challenging when choosing an engagement ring for your soul mate.
Florals integrated into food and drinks
Flowers are a usual occurrence in weddings, but we’ve seen floral elements now integrated into food and drinks and banquet stations. Edible flowers are striking a beautiful and delicious trend in weddings. More and more bakeries and pastry chefs are integrating edible flowers in their cake decorations, pastry frosting, and cream fillings for various desserts. We’ve even seen flowers floating on champagne flutes, offering a tasty and tangy flavor to wines, bubbly, and wedding cocktails.
Guests as photographers
Today, guests are now part of the photography and videography team. Since everybody has a smartphone, couples take advantage of their guests by providing photography souvenir apps in the wedding invitation so that guests can snap photos throughout the ceremony and the reception and have these photos synced up to cloud storage. This is clever and allows couples to relive the memory of their wedding from the point of view of their guests. Priceless.
Dark color motifs
Weddings today don’t have to be all about pastels and creams and airy colors from fairylands. Now, darker and edgier colors make their trademark in bridesmaid gowns, reception décor, and even in cake décor and wedding souvenirs like custom printed postcards. Colors like indigo, lavender, teal, terracotta, and even black are so trendy in the latest weddings we’ve seen.
Everything comes out tiny
Couples who want a big impact on their wedding now choose the miniature versions of everything! Miniature cakes, miniature souvenirs, miniature burgers and pastries, miniature champagne flutes, and even tiny floral bouquets for the bridal party yes, we’ve shrunk down all things that could be found at weddings. Wedding souvenir books small? Mini postcards? Small cake and pastry slices? Mini invitations? Check! The smaller it is, the bigger the impact.
Drone photography
Drones are not new, but they’re growing in popularity in the wedding niche, and for good reason. What’s great about drone photography is they’re perfect for the outdoors and highlight the beauty of the venue as well as the creativity of the reception’s décor and festivity. Drones also cleverly highlight how intimate the wedding is or how grand, by featuring the guests in various actions and party poses. Talk to your photographer about capturing the moments from up above and simply gush at the results once you get the film.
These trends are delightful, and we’re excited to see what 2025 has in store for weddings!
